No excuse, but excuses

Yep it’s that time of year when Target and Wal-Mart put out the Christmas decorations long before Thanksgiving was here and even while selling Halloween candy and costumes. Some of your favorite radio stations start offering non-stop Christmas music and Santa wants to know what you want for Christmas or you’ll end up with coal socks and underwear (really, aren’t they the same). Oh the joy of the holidays even if you celebrate Chanukah or in any other way. We all think its too soon.

Except I’m gearing up for Halloween Christmas and for work we’ve been planning Thanksgiving and Christmas since August.

Christmas-decorations

Needless to say that leaves me a bit busy. I’m working on crafting some posts to preload over the next ten weeks to no leave dead air or all Christmas all the time but I’d love your help. I value other bloggers and the different writing styles that exist in each of us. We all have different voices that come out when we write and I’d love to exchange guest posts.

If you’d write a guest post for me sometime over the next ten (10) weeks I’ll reciprocate sometime after the new year. A variety of topics are welcome not just the holidays. I’d love anything from your health story, to a funny anecdote to just anything you’d live to share here on

IT ALL CHANGES

Send you proposed ideas to Cynthia.crowsen@gmail.com with GUEST POST in the subject. I’ll schedule out the post and let you know the dates.

Feel free to tell me in the email if you know a date you would need the reciprocal guest post.

Thanks in advance. I love reading so many blogs and I can’t wait to share in this community part of blogging.

Last week I set goals but did not post them.  I’m going to review the previous goals and move on.

This Week’s Goals

  • Enjoy beautiful work. The trip was gorgeous and so educational.  I enjoyed walking near waterfalls in the morning and learning from teachers I’ve admired for a long time.  Such a wonderful week despite how much work I came back to on my desk.  IMG_1168
  • Update my calendar. This is the only way I survive.  And it’s become a regular weekly goal. I know I need to keep on top my tasks because of how much I have going on.
  • Plan several at home workouts. I’ll admit the week I planned this goal I didn’t actually do too well on it.  I had a few ideas but didn’t actually write them down.  Since then I have been following the #exerciseclub on Twitter and using it as motivation to workout each day even if it is just one exercise to push myself.
  • Party with friends. I went, I had fun and I enjoyed meeting some new people.  I have to work on being more outgoing.  It is definitely harder to make friends in a small town where everyone went to school together and is raising children together.  I’m not giving up though…just recognizing it takes work.
  • Journal time. Uh nope, no and no way.  I brought my journal but didn’t write in it.  I did make notes on my phone but I think my journaling days are gone.
  • YouTube video. I want to do this…I really do.  But I have to admit my limitations.  Right now blogging is where I’m working on improving in consistency and quality.  Full YouTube videos need to wait.

This Week’s Goals

  • Check me out!  Nope, not in that way.  I have my 5 year review and physical for work coming up.  I’m checking of many of the tests now so I don’t have to rush them in the new year.  Oh the joy of the hospital.
  • Cook food.  I’ve been eating fairly healthy but it’s been a lot of fresh veggies and hummus or salads.  I want to cook something.  It’s time to pull out my rice cooker or slow cooker to have a hot meal.
  • Pay all the bills.  Oh my…so many things to pay.  My money is going to be gone.  But my bills are going to be gone too.  I guess it all works out.
  • Prepare for travel!  I have so much more travel for work coming up…some international.  That means this week is passport time.  We put it off with busy days for so long we have to make the time.  We’re getting out of the office to go tomorrow right before lunch.  But the darn not smiling in picture killed me.
  • Work, work, work…then workout.  Work is so insane right now (like I said above).  I actually had this post almost finished but forgot to post it because it wasn’t on my to-do list with all the work tasks.  I am checking them off one by one all day long and then pushing myself to workout.  Oh my it’s a lot to do but I have to remind myself I love it.

How do you handle the busy times of year?  What are your tips?
