Putting It Off

I keep a list of blog items I want to do, improve, up date, etc.  It’s been on going since I realized I loved blogging even if Momma was my only reader.  For me blogging is a combination between quilting and creative writing.  Strange combo?  Hear me out.

I enjoy the idea of taking bits of code, a blank slate of a blog and adding bits and pieces with widgets, color, text, photos, and much more to make my blog me and not many of the blogs I read.  It’s fun to make decisions on design and fix problems along the way because I’m learning as I go.  The end product always makes me smile.

The creative writing process is obvious.  In addition to regular posts I like to keep my pages and even social media blurbs up to date.  The problem is with any creative process…it takes time.  It becomes difficult to find motivation to update these pieces when busy because I know the work involved.  But the end product is worth it.

So this longish weekend I sat down and just began to work on it.  I was tired of my list growing longer and not crossing items off.  So far the theme has changed.  Click through to see that and my new about page.  The rest I’m working on today and bit by bit more until Fitbloggin’ and beyond.

Last Week’s Goals

  • READ!  Work interceded on these plans. I had great plans to curl up with my book and a cup of iced tea to enjoy.  Yet I did get some reading done and I want to do more.  Must make more time….there’s never any time…I’ll find time, somehow.
  • Back-to-school shopping.  Grrrr.  I ordered uniforms for Hunni and myself.  His came and mine didn’t.  His still needs some tailoring but at least they are here.  I did however get some comfortable pants and mark some items to buy soon…very soon.
  • Hit the gym.  I wanted to get to Zumba.  I was dressed to go when I had change everything for work…again, and again, and again.  Good news is I had more make the best of it workouts.  I lifted furniture, shelving units, and even pushed around a 3000 pound safe.  I’d call that a workout.
  • Prep ahead.  Ugh…again work.  I ate out a good bit this week.  Healthy eating out but still out.  Yet today I’m making batches of food for the next two weeks.
  • Rest!  In between several trips to Syracuse and a day playing heavy duty mover I did actually rest.  I didn’t add extra work  to my day and slept in Saturday.  Strange for me but good.

This Week’s Goals

  • Blog updating.  Two tasks done, three more scheduled.  It’s a fun thing to relax with code.  I don’t understand myself sometime either.
  • Vacation planning.  It’s coming faster than I thought.  And I have a bunch of work right before.  Time to plan in advance…luckily I’m good at that.  Outfits to plan, gear to pack, snacks to buy, and so much more.  But it’s a fun puzzle to put together.
  • Work it out.  My regular work schedule begins this week…with the exception of some vacation later this month.  I need to fit Zumba in because without it I’ll lose my mind.  This means I’m changing the time I workout on some day.  At the beginning of October, after vacation, I’ll be joining a college gym.
  • Inventory the kitchen.  I went to search for some kidney beans today and only had one can.  Ooops.  I’m still adjusting to this new pantry set up.  Time to utilize my pantry app for keeping track.
  • Finish my book.  I’ve learned to stop predicting I’ll finish my reading booking in a set number of days.  But I do know I have plenty of driving coming up to finish listening to my book and add another.
