Too many “rights”

There are days it all gets a bit stressful trying to balance work, workouts, home and even sleep.  My mind overloads on the “right” thing to do.  Drink enough water, eat enough vegetables, don’t forget the protein, exercise at least 3 days a week, sleep 8 hours a day, don’t be a workaholic…oh is that last one just me?

It can get to me because I want everything to work out just right…I have a bit of Goldilocks syndrome I guess.  I stresses me out to miss one step, on thing on my to do list, one healthy meal.  Heck life is a big stress ball some days…most days.
Then I have to remember it can’t be all doom and gloom, stress and worry.  Somehow I’m making it work…well I know how but all the worrying isn’t helping.  Instead I need to focus on having more fun at work like this.

Surprise, surprise.  The less I stress about it all the more it works… all of “it.”  Not my natural instinct but I’m working on it….yep “it.”

Last Week’s Goals

  • 3 posts (as promised). Only 2. Excuses abound for reasons but I’ll be happy with two because I enjoyed them.
  • Take a day off.  Who knew not working for a day could be so much fun?  Honestly I’m a workaholic and find it hard not to work.  But I enjoyed a day off on Saturday…doing nothing but fun.
  • Make a workout plan for fall. I picked the gym I’m going to join…I just need to uh go there.  And I have basic workouts scheduled…just waiting for my favorite instructor to let me know if there is going to AM classes too.  I’m just not ready for the winter and icicle hair after Aqua Zumba.
  • Call local colleges for gyms.  I picked a gym but didn’t actually call any.  I used the power of the INTERNET!  It was easy to do on a night of insomnia.  I love the college nearest me and their price is the best.  Double win.
  • Lunch bagI picked my lunch bag out.  Now I have to order it.  Luckily I have a weird one my mom gave that doesn’t hold all my lunch. Not lucky it doesn’t hold all my lunch but lucky I have it until my new one arrives.
  • Stock up on foodOh the joys of grocery shopping.  It is so relaxing…it’s just hard to describe.  I love choices and cooking.
  • Bills :(   Yes they are paid.  Boo for less money in my bank account.
  • Passport :-)   Traveling makes a very long week.  But I have the paperwork half completed and to be sent off this week.

This Week’s Goals

  • READ!  I am loving my current book but by the time I get to it at night I’m dead tired.  I’m going to take the time to read instead of watching the last of boring re-runs this week.
  • Back-to-school shopping.  Technically no school for me.  But I do need new clothes to fit my shrinking frame…YEAH!  I ordered new uniforms and now time to buy some comfortable and WARM clothes for the coming fall and winter.
  • Hit the gym.  Well really get into Zumba.  I need to sign up for the actual gym still.  But my instructor is back from her vacation so I’m ready to get back to workouts.  I missed it and I need the stress relief.
  • Prep ahead.  During my grocery trip I spent too long reading ingredients lists trying to find quick breakfast things I could keep in my work fridge.  EVERYTHING HAD SOY!  and if it didn’t it had some other allergen.  After some pintrest scouring and cookbook reading I have recipes to make for breakfasts.
  • Rest!  A week until we start our fall programs…only one week.  I need to stock up on energy for teenagers.
