Sleepy Busy

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind.  With the best of intentions I have several drafts of blogs uncompleted in exchange for a few precious hours of sleep…or a couple extra hours of work.  The second one was not my favorite.

In fact my Sunday I slept for 4 hours on the couch thinking it was only a 5 minute nap.  Yeah not so much.

This week I’m forcing myself to get some rest and enjoy myself.  Family is visiting from out of town so we are going to see some fun sights and explore some new ones to me.  Nothing like two teenagers to force me not to be a work-a-holic for a week.  Guess I better set my goals around that.

Last Week’s Goals

  • Budget fun.  Our basic budget is in place.  It’s different but we love the more consistent boundaries instead of spending and not knowing what will pop up.
  • Prepare for family invasion.  Beds were made, towels set out, menus planned and fun prepared.  And now family is here so we are excited to enjoy a week where I’m forced to relax.
  • Work it out.  I forgot a few days of meetings and randomness I had this week.  But I pushed through and even found a Zumba class last minute when my original class was cancelled Saturday.
  • Stock the fridge. Uh no…just no.  This is transferred to this week.
  • Pen pals.  This was my favorite task last week.  So much so I’m doing it again this week too. Smile
  • Fruits & Veggies.  I may not have gone grocery shopping but I did buy fruits and veggies.  I think I would go insane without them.  And they make great easy meals at 9PM when I get home from work.

This Week’s Goals

  • Drive-in time.  Hunni and I have wanted to see Spiderman forever.  It’s playing at the drive-in and this is perfect for warm summer evening of family fun.
  • I like to Zumba. I finally have a group of Zumba instructors I like and fit into my schedule.  And now my schedule is settling down…just a bit…so I can get into a habit of attending.  Finally ready to shake my hips.
  • Grocery Shop.  Oh the fun these last two weeks have been.  Travel and eating out.  Late night salads or toast after missing dinner.  And no groceries because our freezer was broken.  But alas that is fixed.  Now it’s time to shop!  I can’t wait to have food to make into meals.
  • Organize my brain.  My office shelves were inherited and need lots of organizing.  My brain hurts looking at them everyday.  Tomorrow I’m excited to start getting them in order.  And at home we have some fun organizing things to put my house in order.
  • Menu planning.  With little food we have been eating random bits and pieces.  My organizing brain does not enjoy this.  Now my menu is set and ready to be filled.
