So Much Stuff

How in the world did we end up with so much stuff?!

Almost 1,800 pounds and that doesn’t include any furniture.  What happened to the days I could pack my entire life in a mid-sized vehicle and drive to college?  This took 6 weeks to organize and pack our lives for a big little truck to cart away and move.  I guess I’m an adult.

And now is the fun of unloading it all.  First the stuff we should have sold in a yard sale before moving and we’re now getting ready to sell here.  Can you say counterproductive.

Yes those would be my crutches, walker and medical shower seat from a multitude of injuries during the last 4 years.  Those memories shall be out of my house ASAP.  I still have the scars if I want to remember them.

We’re exploring all the boxes as we find places to put things.  Bit buy bit each day.  Currently my garage is a disaster.  But I did find my teddie bear from grade one and a lot of bubble leftover from our wedding. Smile

And then the joy of storing things…and then storing the storage bins.  I think they need to live in the cupboard under the stairs…at least some of them.

It’s been hard work.  Hunni and the puppers are laid out on the floor and chairs in the living room each night.

Perhaps we should pack less for the next time we move.  But lets wait awhile to find out.

Last Week’s Goals

  • Unpack big boxes. Uh yep…and even some small boxes.  There are only a few left to unpack.  But the darn company lost one box and we just noticed it so I’m annoyed.  My favorite shirt was in that box.
  • Set workout schedule.  My ideal schedule is set; we’ll see how that turns out this coming week.  A change in location actually forced me to step outside my Zumba box and try a new class or two.
  • Meet new people.  I have a problem with time though.  I keep forgetting it’s only been 2 weeks.  I want friends like I had at home.  But I have met a ton of nice people for work and in the community.  It’s been a busy two weeks.
  • Relax. Getting lost on purpose has been my sanity.  I’ve discovered shortcuts, found new towns, and just love the views.  Perfect with the hot weather.
  • Start paperwork.  I was a bit of a slacker on this.  We did two of the billion tasks.  But I did organize my office.  It balances for me.
  • Blog!!!  Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!  I love blogging and it’s a joy to be doing it regularly.  So much fun and I still have so much to blog about.

This Week’s Goals

  • Budget fun.  Okay budgets are not fun all the time.  But we are working on building our budget for this place.  It’s scary and exciting at the same time.
  • Prepare for family invasion.  Momma and my cousins are coming this weekend and staying for a whole week.  Getting lost on purpose has been great for finding places to take them when they are up here. Smile  Now we need to make their beds.
  • Work it out.  I’ve found a schedule I like for workouts at least for the summer.  This week is to test it out completely.  I’m excited to enjoy full on workouts and the stress relief it brings.
  • Stock the fridge.  We brought plenty of canned goods with us…now we need the rest.  Exploring where to get my favorite goods online is a must this week.
  • Pen pals.  I miss my friends so I’ve reverted to my childhood.  We’re being pen pals.  My first letters go out today.  Good friends deserve real mail…don’t we all.
  • Fruits & Veggies.  In addition to stocking the fridge I’m buying lots of good fruits and veggies.  I love salads and it will be way cheaper to make them than buy them.
