Goals q

This is what happens when a 30 year old woman goes to a Hunger Games party before a midnight-ish showing of The Hunger Games…and then has to work the next morning.

Oh and I played Words with Friends for another hour until my medication kicked in and I actually fell asleep.  Good times. But more on that madness tomorrow.  For now I actually have to be in uniform at a meeting all day and then work tonight.  And I want to hit the gym.  Maybe I’m training for little sleep so I can win The Hunger Games.

Last Week’s Goals

  • One night unplugged.  The worst week ever to plan this goal.  I love when I spend some time unplugged but didn’t plan appropriately for this.  When work bleeds into the evening and all hours of the night I really can’t unplug.
  • Menu planned week. Ideas were planned; menus were not. I’m still figuring out my schedule.  I have an entire post drafted on this problem – because it really is a problem – but the good news is I ate home more than I did out…even if it was eggs.
  • One mini organizing task a day.  This task brought me such joy.  Closet purging; email purging; photo organizing; and so much more.  The little tasks made the bigger tasks seem more doable.
  • Update 101 in 1001.  The list is under review. I have many ideas but some must wait for some important decisions in May.  Once I have them I can finalize the revisions.  But I will start making the changes to the ones I know I cannot complete so I have new goals…because I love goals.
  • Reassess priorities.  I had a great talk with my friend Emily on this topic.  My priorities 6 months ago were entirely different.  I wanted to be someone and something else.  I wanted to do it all…okay some days I still do.  But letting go of that ideal and recognizing there are only 24 hours has created priorities I thought would cause major anxiety and instead only cause minor stress.

This Week’s Goals

  • Reset tech-free.  Hunni wants to see a movie so that will be the perfect night to shut the world out and enjoy a tech free night with him.  Well and the movie projector man using technology.
  • Basic meal list.  I’m not ready for true meal planning everyday because my schedule isn’t balanced yet.  Instead I need basic meals… a dinner deck of simple meals I can make with no hassle and few ingredients so I don’t feel pressure.
  • Get in the fitness.  Speaking of crazy schedule…this week’s work will make me miss several of my regular workouts.  I need to fit them in other times and places to feel better.  At least I’ve learned how to use On Demand now so if I miss a show I can enjoy it later (my one gym only shows limited channels).
  • Edit YouTube Video.  I have two videos recorded that need editing.  But I’ve been putting them off…even when I have bits of time.  I try to do all the editing at once but that isn’t always possible.  I need to plan better.
  • Organize tasks/lists.  I am enjoying a new to-do list app suggested by Emily.  Now it’s time to add the things to my list for keeping me on task.
  • Pack up winter.  I love my winter clothes but even the chillier days don’t need big bulky sweaters and overcoats.  Time to pack them away.
