Enjoying the Zumba Party

Fitness is stress relief and I’m always intrigued to try new types.  Working out alone is typical but last year I found friends to workout. The trouble has always been the distance.  Races are always a minimum 45 minute drive, fitness classes with friends were at least an hour and yoga could be up to an hour and a half.  It just wasn’t possible for a regular workout and so I stuck with the gym and some DVDs.

Then a friend I met at a jewelry party invited me to try out her favorite Zumba class.  Everyone else liked it so much they were excited for midnight class outside, even in the fall rain.  I was intrigued.  I went to the first class and was hooked.  It’s been a great workout; a need a shower workout.

But more than a workout, Zumba feels like a party with friends.  Dressing up in my Zumba best and dancing with my friends makes my week.

I might be a bit of a Zumba addict.  The first weekend in March 40 people from our class went to a Blacklight Zumba Party.

We had so much fun before we even before we arrived, talking about outfits, food, dinner out and so much more.  We took a school bus like old band trips from high school.  Lots of fun…even a mini snow storm on our stop for a necessity – Dunkin Donuts Smile

And because it was a black light party a large group of us had a t-shirt cutting party the week before so we’d glow.  Anyone else remember trying to find white jeans for the black lights at school dances?

I still enjoy the gym when needed but I’d rather party with friends at Zumba any day…even twice a day.
