A Lifetime of Importance

I’m not always hip to the new techy things.  I love technology but don’t learn how to use it properly until I read the manual or some fun tutorials.

When Facebook offered previews of their new Timeline feature in December I jumped in.  Everyone will be switched over eventually so why not have a chance to play around with it while others are figuring it out too, right?

Then came the internal dilemma.  What are significant events in my timeline?  I know what I enjoy and want to remember; my travels, my engagement & marriage, moving and new jobs…but I want to remember the little things too.  This must be a problem faced by autobiographers.

Facebook is no help.  Sure they have the big things like births, marriages, and deaths.  But they also have new pets and first meetings.  I love Peanut and Leo and great memories of the day I met them but is that important.

New glasses or contacts don’t seem so important in my timeline but maybe their awesomeness is something I should note.  They make me look super smart…and retro-librarian-ish.

And then the illusive Other Life Event.  I thought Facebook had it covered including things like first kiss, change beliefs, weight loss, new eating habits, tattoos and piercings, travels and even new roommates.

I guess making cinnamon rolls with bloggers on my day off would count as an other life event…because trust me that was an event. Smile

Again Facebook provides the ability to share or overshare to my heart’s content.  Now to decide what to add.  This may take awhile.  But it’s a lifetime of experience.

What would you include in your Time lime?
