Hello It All Changes readers! I’m Lynn Chen, and I write the blog “The Actor’s Diet” about my life as an actress living in Hollywood. Very happy to guest post for the lovely Cynthia, who not only has featured me before, but has also sent me – a total stranger – a very generous gift:

When she put out the call for guest bloggers, Cynthia said it didn’t have to be Christmas-themed. But being that I’m born on December 24th, I couldn’t help but write about it.

A lot of people assume that being born on Christmas Eve must suck. But the truth is, it’s my favorite time of year. Nobody EVER forgets the date, and I’m always surrounded by loved ones. The day after Thanksgiving, I’m ready for the Holiday deluge – I soak all of it up – the lights, the music, the animated specials, the shopping, and of course, the FOOD!

The cookies! The fruitcake! The figgy pudding! Actually, I have no idea what non-dessert items are traditionally served for Christmas in other households – I’m Chinese-American so most of my gatherings revolved around stir fries and such. Check out this video I made two years ago of a typical celebration in the Chen household.

Last year I went to New Orleans with my husband for X-mas, but wound up getting food poisoning and spent the entire day in bed:

I’m actually headed back to NOLA in December for another try! But in the meantime, I would love to know what savory dishes YOU eat during the holidays. Hop on over to The Actor’s Diet and let me know!
