My mailbox is usually contains junk and bills so I love the opportunity for real mail.  It’s like college when the care packages arrive from home…only this fantastic package arrived from Lindsay.

She was such a sweetheart to and resent my wayward package that somehow ended up at her house instead of mine.  Smile

My food allergies and intolerances can be a bit intimidating but Lindsay found a fantastic solution.  She bought a cookbook for me to make my own goodies.  But not just any cookbook.

Lindsay also took care of the kitchen towel for my cooking fun. It’s like she knows me because I tend to make a mess. Smile

I was so excited to try the recipes because they required very little tweaking.  Especially this one…

One fine fun winter gift is a travel mug to fill with coffee tea.  I have a cup of tea with me at all times so this is perfect.  IMG_1827And it will fit a coffee shop size tea for all my running around.  Thanks Lindsay for all your thoughtful gifts to keep me warm and happy.

If you want to get your own care package…uh, foodie pen pal…here’s the fun details from Lindsay at Lean Green Bean Blog.

On the 5th of every month, you will receive your pen pal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your pen pal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

  • You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your pen pal!
  • The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
  • You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
  • Foodie Pen pals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your pen pal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
  • *US Residents only please at this time- hopefully we can expand soon!*
