Oh My Salsa!

I went grocery shopping this weekend.  Our pantry was full pantry of dry goods but we lacked the fresh stuff to make meals…oh and salsa.  Lots and lots of salsa.

I could tell you we were having a party for the Patriots with chips and salsa.  Or it will last me a few weeks.  But I don’t want to lie to you.  It’s half gone.  Some in my belly with my new favorite chips, the rest is for this week’s recipes and others to stock the freezer.  What can I say…I love salsa!

Last Week’s Goals

  • Follow the plan. Wow!  I actually did this.  Kind of sad to say this but I was surprised I stuck to it as well as I did.  I ate at home and even cooked a ton for stocking my freezer.  Good thing Hunni does the dishes. Now I need to proofread tweets. Smilethank hunni
  • Rethink exercise. Rethinking my idea of exercise busted my but more this week than I have in the past weeks.  I didn’t reinvent the wheel, I just had to rethink how it worked.
  • Enjoy the fall.  Rain sucks!  Hard to enjoy walks and apple picking and fun outdoors when the outdoors is icky.  But fun fall things like soup and squash and sweaters were the highlight of my week.
  • Unpack the boxes. I purchased a few new pairs of tights upon inspection of last years tights.  I love wearing them so much I put holes in some.  The box will be unpacked, washed (only if needed) and put away tomorrow after work.
  • Goals for the rest of 2011.  I’m keeping a running list of goals right now to pare down by the middle of the month.  Emily is a great sounding board and it’s nice to have a local friend for sanity when work goes nuts.
  • Savings. I use ING Direct for most of my banking and have since I was in college.  I love the ability to have multiple savings accounts labeled for specific goals, ideas, tasks, etc.  I open it the other day and noticed my automatic savings I much higher than I thought.  I’m adjusting the amounts because we can live on much less than we do…we spend it because it’s there in checking.

This Week’s Goals

  • Finish two books.  Okay not as lofty as it sounds.  I’m almost done with two books.  I want to lend one to a new friend and start a new book from my A to Z list but refuse until I finish the book I’m reading.  It’s good but been a process.  I can do both this week.
  • Go back to Zumba.  I miss it.  I really do.  I can’t go to all the classes like I did before…and don’t think I would.  But it’s fun to pretend I can dance for exercise.  And it gets me out of the house for more than just the gym and work.
  • Cook ahead.  I was on a role this weekend with 3 meal to start stocking my freezer.  Now I have more things and ideas to put in there as well.  I’m enjoying the process and making my own “microwave dinners.”  I’m sick, I know.
  • Work hard.  I will block Facebook, Gmail, Google reader, and twitter from my internet this week if need be to get ahead on work.  I’m on schedule now but I feel November advancing quickly – I forgot October was coming, already.
  • Plan my holiday posting schedule.  I have some fabulous guest posters coming for y’all this November and December.  Now I need to schedule my own posts.  I have ideas but I need to put them on the calendar and start writing while I have free-ish time before there’s no time.
  • Work on my Facebook Page.  Did you forget It All Changes is on Facebook?  Yeah me too. Be right back Part of my behind-the-blog work has been a Facebook page improvement.   There is a week of fun ideas, recipes and even a giveaway this week on my Facebook page so be sure to check it out.IMG_1212
