Puppy Chow for People (Giveaway)

When eating breakfast I’m looking for the umami factor. For me umami means a little sweet, a bit salty, some squishy and some crunch for effect.

In winter I love oatmeal combinations but spring and summer need a cooler outlet.  (Wo)man does not live on green smoothies alone.

Puppy Chow for People

Ingredients

  • 7 cups Attune Gluten Free Brown Rice Cereal
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips – I use Enjoy Life Foods
  • 1/2 cup nut butter of choice – I use chunky peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla – gluten-free
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • Cinnamon – to taste
  • Dutch Processed Cocoa Powder – optional

Instructions

IMG_3445

  1. Melt peanut butter and chocolate in microwave for one minute. Stir and microwave again for 30 seconds.  Add in vanilla.  Other extracts like orange or amaretto are great too…just not almond, for me, I’m allergic.
  2. I add cereal and chocolate mixture to two large zip lock bags.  Shake like maracas until all cereal is covered. Give the bags to kids and the cereal will be covered in no time.
  3. In a bowl combine powdered sugar and cinnamon.  If using cocoa powder replace 1/4 cup sugar with cocoa.
  4. Add equal amounts powdered sugar to the bags. Repeat maracas shaking.
  5. Savor the flavor…then hide the rest in doggie bags to prevent eating the whole batch at once.

Trust me you don’t want to be left with a bag this size…Or it will end up on the floor as you hurry to eat it.
